What exactly is GEO and how is it different from SEO?+
SEO gets you ranked on Google's results page. GEO gets you cited inside AI-generated answers. When ChatGPT or Perplexity answers a question, the sources it draws from are determined by completely different signals than search rankings — you can rank first on Google and still not appear in a single AI answer.
Does my site need to rank on Google first?+
It helps but it's not a prerequisite. Some AI engines pull from top-ranked pages, so SEO and GEO do reinforce each other. But structured data, entity clarity, and third-party presence all affect AI visibility independently of where you rank in search.
Do I need a developer to implement the fixes?+
No. Most fixes are things you paste into your site's settings or create as a plain text file. Every fix comes with exact code or copy. For Framer, Webflow, Squarespace and similar builders, the report includes where specifically to put it.
